We are always having a little chat over a cuppa and biccie at the shop and sometimes stories come out of nowhere, we decided they are stories that deserve to be heard and we thought we might share a bit about how this wild and wonderful ride began in the words from The whirlwind of our Trio TRACIE …
Not quite sure of the exact year we kicked things off (somewhere around 1998 or 1999 with a few pop-ups), but by 2003, the shop was well and truly happening. What started as a tiny idea turned into something so much bigger than we ever imagined.
A real family business, built by a bunch of happy, down-to-earth, fashion-loving women with a shared vision; to create beautiful clothing for women of all ages. Back in those early days, we made the clothes ourselves (yep, proper manufacturing!) and hit the road for field days, markets, and country events. We loved every second of it 💕
It was Mum, Julie, Tana, and me out the front; and of course Dad & Donny always turned up when the heavy lifting or food eating was required 😂
Tay joined us fresh out of college and eventually became an equal partner in the biz for a few years before moving on to do her thing ✨
We had more shops than I can count… until we settled at the old Shoehorn building. Then came the moment we knocked a hole in the wall (literally 😅) and created what is now the home of Willow & Fli - a name that honours both the wisdom of the old willow tree 🌳 (Willow) and the magic of new beginnings 🧚♀️ (Dragonfly).
It’s been a journey - a wild, busy, beautiful one - and we’re so proud of what it’s become. Thank you for being part of the story 💛
