Chocolate & Caramel Slice

We have a bit of sweet tooth here in store and something that is always a crowd pleaser is Tana's Condensed Milk Caramel Slice!

Delicious Caramel topped in Chocolate with a biscuit base! (Tana put emphasis on the importance of using CADBURY chocolate, none of that cooking stuff around here¬†ūüėČ )

This delightful treat is perfect for morning tea, afternoon tea... before breakfast, after dinner, lunch, tea, or even as a midnight snack¬†ūüėČ

 or maybe that's just us? 

There is a bit of cooling time for the caramel involved so its better to plan ahead. Double batching is something recommended because 15 pieces just isn't enough sometimes. 

Here it is!! 


  • 1 cup plain flour, sifted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Coles Desiccated Coconut
  • 125g butter, melted

  • 395g can NESTL√Č Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 60g butter, melted

  • 125g Cadbury¬†chocolate, chopped
  • 60g copha, chopped


  • Preheat oven to 180¬įC. Line a 3cm deep, 28 x 18cm (base) lamington pan.
  • Combine all¬†base ingredients¬†in a bowl. Mix well. Press into prepared lamington pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until light golden. Remove from oven. Cool.
  • Make filling: Combine all¬†filling ingredients¬†in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, whisking, for 8 minutes or until golden. Pour over cooked base. Bake for 12 minutes or until firm. Cool completely. Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours, or until set.
  • Make topping: Place¬†chocolate¬†and¬†copha¬†into a heat-proof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Stir until melted. Pour over caramel. Refrigerate to set. Cut into squares to serve.

 Enjoy with a cuppa, share with friends or even freeze and save for later!!
